The annual Sooke Fine Arts Show begins July 28th and runs until August 6th. If you are in the area or can plan a visit be sure not to miss this exhibition. This is the largest Exhibition on Vancouver Island. One of my pieces has been selected. It is a 30"x40" acrylic called the Russian Queen. It is from my sunflower series. On Wednesday, July 4th I attended 'Stir It Up', the Western Art Gallery buyers event. The exhibition was amazing, it felt like an Art Convention. The artwork filled two exhibition spaces in the BMO Centre on the Stampeded grounds. I met a lot of great people and some terrific artists. The excellent work done by the volunteers to create this event must be commended! The organizers of this event did a wonderful job bringing together a wonderful mix of traditional Western themed artwork and the new Contemporary Western artwork of Artists from Western Canada and the South Western United States. It was pleasure and an honour to have the opportunity bring my work back Calgary and participate in the 100th. Anniversary of the Calgary Stampede. Thanks Calgary, I hope to see you next year!
