Show Results

Once again the volunteers at the Sooke Fine Art Show did a wonderful job setting up and running the exhibition. According to an update letter I received last week 36% of the work exhibited was sold. There were over 8,500 visitors through the show.

I did not sell any paintings during the show but managed to sell two prints which covered my entry and hanging fees. Prior to the exhibition I sold 8 prints and this weekend I sold another 'Last Rays' print which leaves only 16 left in the edition.

Thank you again to the volunteers for their excellent work. Congratulations to all the excellent Island Artists who were chosen for exhibition, keep up the good work and I'll see you next year.

Toronto Visit

I recently visited Toronto and got the chance to see where my first tryptich was installed. Bill Norgate, the owner of the piece is planning to change the wall colour and raise the paintings up a bit higher. This will lessen the blocking of the paintings by the equipment in his showroom. The wall colour change will bring some more warmth into the showroom space by picking up a colour from the tryptich. I really enjoyed meeting with Bill and having a chance to provide a little input in the hanging of this piece. Thanks again to my brother Norm for arranging the meeting and the tremendous hospitality shown by Norm, Helen, their daughter Linda, and Clive and my sister Linda. Cheers to all our friends new and old!

Size & Perspective

This will give you more of an idea of the size of the triptych. I shot this this morning at 7am prior to starting to work on the detail work that has to be done. As you can see it almost covers the entire end of our house. It has been a juggling act moving and working on each canvas because my work space is only 10'x10'.
