Clearing Skies over the Olympics and the Juan De Fuca Strait. Part of my inspiration here at Ravens Home. As the sea fog lifts we can see deep into the Olympics.

These two will be my entries for the Sooke Fine Art Show. Thank you for voting in my poll, it helped confirm my decision. What Once Was Now Is.............. Between Heaven and Hellebores The commonality of style rather than subject is what I felt important for this years entry. Either the pieces had to be two landscapes or two realistic subjects. Though these pieces are different from my Expressionistic landscapes you can tell that it is my vision and technique in play. Often when visiting any exhibition I ask myself, 'How did the Painter arrive at these pieces?' When work becomes stylized almost to the point of abstraction I often wonder about the artistic basics and whether or not the artist has retained these basics. These two paintings demonstrate the answer to that question. I spend more time drawing with my brushes and not in a traditional manner at this time.
